The Potter County Farmers Market will be outdoors on the square across from the county jail, every Friday (weather permitting) from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The next market will be this Friday, July 5th. Below is a list of who plans to be there and what they plan on bringing to the Market:

*  The outdoor market is held each Friday from May through October (weather permitting; on very rainy days, we will relocate into the Riley Gallery (if available)).  In November, the Farmers  Market goes indoors for the winter market.

 *  Market times have been established after many trial times over the years.  If you are not able to visit us and would like something particular from one of the vendors, please contact them directly.  They are willing to try to accommodate your request.

ALPACA CREATIONS will be a vender at this week’s market.   Large variety and sizes of Alpaca socks, hand knit hats, headbands, mitts and mittens as well as neck warmers.  Hand woven & knit scarves of alpaca, dryer balls, alpaca boot inserts, roving for spinning or felting.    Large rack of colors and sizes of yarns to stock up for winter.    Not too early  Christmas.   Credit accepted. QUIET ACRES will be at market Friday, weather permitting, with our selection of Haldeman Mills products – NEW Stauffer’s cornmeal,Teff Flour (African Ivory and Dark) and buckwheat flour for the gluten sensitive, Buttermilk and Buckwheat Pancake Mixes, Shortcake/Cobbler Mix, Funnel Cake  and Soft Pretzel Mixes as well as Brinser’s Best Cornmeal.  On the craft side: NEW rope coasters, trivets,trinket bowls and baskets. CLINTON COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — Federal aviation officials have confirmed that they are responding to a small plane crash near Lock Haven, in Clinton County.

An FAA spokesperson says a single-engine Cessna 172 reportedly crash into a wooded area around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Authorities say only one person, the pilot, was on board at the time of the crash. Read more….

There is no better place to celebrate Independence Day than our great Commonwealth.

It is days like today where I feel incredibly grateful to be governor of the place that not only is the home of Independence Hall, but also the birthplace of American democracy and freedom.

Today, I am thinking about all the freedoms we as Pennsylvanians are so lucky to have: the freedom to marry the person you love. The freedom to pray to whoever you choose. The freedom to work a stable job and provide for your family. The freedom to make your voice heard and have your vote counted.

I hope you take this day to relax, spend some time with friends and family, and enjoy all the freedoms we are so fortunate to have. From my family to yours, happy Fourth of July!

At 10:38 AM on Thursday, Bradford City Fire & EMS were dispatched to Mill Street & Short Street for a vehicle/bicycle crash with injuries.

HARRISBURG – Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) today applauded Victaulic’s commitment to a $100 million-plus expansion project at its Lawrenceville foundry in Tioga County.

“Victaulic’s decision to stay here, invest here and grow here is a testament to the company’s loyalty to our community, as well as the outstanding work force and quality of life our region offers,” Owlett said. “I am excited by the opportunities this creates for us and hope it will encourage other long-time businesses, as well as potential new businesses, to invest in Tioga County and the Northern Tier.”

Victaulic received a funding proposal from the state Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a $1.07 million Pennsylvania First Program grant and up to a $428,000 Workforce and Development Network grant to train workers.

10 FFA members from the Headwaters FFA Chapter are making waves on a national level. Each year thousands of FFA members flood Indianapolis, Indiana for the weeklong National FFA Convention. During the week, members participate in competitions, network, and are recognized for their esteemed achievements. This year 10 members of the Headwaters FFA will be joining their peers in Indianapolis to receive their American FFA Degrees.

Wellsville, NY— More than 40 people gathered outside at 84 N. Main St., Wellsville on Monday, July 1^st to celebrate the official opening of the Allegany County Democratic Committee’s (ACDC) 2024 Election Headquarters.

ACDC Vice Chair Mark Holt welcomed guests, saying “this headquarters in historic downtown Wellsville will serve us and the electorate well as we head into this vitally important election.”

Hank Nowak, sitting NYS Supreme Court Justice serving the 8^th Judicial District, briefly remarked on the headquarters space and the power of grassroots organizing. He offered his support to Tom Carle of Fredonia, NY, our candidate for NYs 23^rd Congressional district.

Five area students were recently awarded scholarships stewarded by the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation.

Aubrey Luce and Colton Boser received the Chipmonk Community Hall Scholarship for $600 each.

This scholarship fund supports awards for graduating students of Allegany-Limestone Central School, with preference given to a current resident of or a relative of a current resident of the Allegany, NY area of Chipmonk.
