Harrisburg, PA – Today, the Department of Human Services (DHS) Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh and Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen togethercelebrated the renaming of their shared building as the Health and Human Services Building. The new name removes the outdated language of the former “Health and Welfare” building and replaces it with the Department of Human Services’ current title to create a cohesive branding for both Departments.

(Jones) Johnson. Yvonne married Larry Dale Smith and they shared 55 years together until his passing on August 10, 2023.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.
* This dangerous storm will be near… Denton Hill State Park around 210 PM EDT. Harrison Valley around 230 PM EDT.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Ulysses and Ski Denton Ski Area.

Helen V. “Ginny” (Lewis) Alexander, age 94, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, died on Monday, July 8, 2024.
She was born on November 4, 1929 in Westfield, PA, a daughter of the late James and Margaret (Parker) Lewis and was married to the late Harold Alexander who passed away in 2017.
She was a homemaker and was formerly employed by Wundies, Wellsboro, PA. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Wellsboro, PA and enjoyed cooking, baking, doing puzzles and spending time with her family.

Beverly Ann Repko, 73, passed away at Penn Highlands Elk surrounded by family on July 8, 2024. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, nurse, and grandmother. She resided at 2400 Long Level Road in Johnsonburg, PA.
She was born May 31, 1951 in Spangler, PA, daughter of the late Earl Miller and Edna Mae Miller (née Yahner). She was the second of four children, Daniel Miller, Bonnie (Gary) Nofsker (née Miller), and Ronald (Sandy) Miller. She was a graduate of Cambria Heights Senior High, class of 1969. She attended Montefiore School of Nursing, located in Pittsburgh, class of 1972. From then until 2016 when she retired, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital, which is now Penn Highlands Elk. She had worked in the Emergency Room, the Intensive Care Unit, and then became the House Supervisor.
On May 5, 1973, in the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Patton, PA, Beverly married William Repko, Sr., who survives. Bev and Bill have one son, William Repko, Jr., and one granddaughter, Emma Repko.
