Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that Route 6 is closed in both directions between Route 4017 (Leona Road) and Route 3034 (Mud Creek Road), Troy Township, Bradford County, due to a vehicle striking the structure over Sugar Creek.
A detour using Leona Road, Route 4014 (Springfield Road), and Route 14 is in place.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, and expect delays in travel.
BRADFORD, Pa. – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will be closed Wednesday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday.
The Marilyn Horne Museum and Gift Shop and museum café in Marilyn Horne Hall on Veterans Square in downtown Bradford will also be closed for the holiday.
Normal business operations will resume Thursday, June 20.
Wellsville Police arrested Theresa A. Poehmel, age 45, no permanent address, charging her with Burglary 2nd (Class C Felony) and Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). The charges stem from an incident that took place on West State Street on June 8th.
Poehmel was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Poehlem was committed to the Allegany County Jail on $1,000.00 cash bail or $2,000.00 property bond or $10,000.00 partially secured bond. Poehmel is due back in Wellsville Village Court on June 18th at 4:30 pm

Wellsville Police arrested Stephen J. Tyer, age 51, of Lititz, PA, charging him with Grand Larceny 4th (Class E Felony). The charge stems from an incident that took place on North Main Street on May 9th. Tyer was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson and released.

Wellsville Police arrested Ashley J. Taber, age 35 of Wellsville, charging her with Burglary 3rd (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th (Class A Misdemeanor), Conspiracy 5th (Class A Misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (Class A Misdemeanor). The charges stem from incidents that took place on West State Street.
Wellsville Police also charged Danny W. Logue, age 24 of Wellsville and Eric T. Logue, age 44 of Wellsville, with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th (Class A Misdemeanor) following a search warrant on Clark Street. Taber was processed and arraigned before Wellsville Village Justice Thompson. Taber was released and is due back in Wellsville Village Court on June 18th at 4:30 pm. Olean- Margaret A. “Peggy” Cashimere “Loving wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister & Aunt”
Margaret A. Cashimere passed away on June 11, 2024, at the Cuba Nursing Home after a long illness.
Born July 2, 1936, in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of Martin and Ardis Bryski. She married Paul Cashimere who predeceased her on November 13, 2021.
Peggy grew up in Olean, where she attended Olean High School and excelled in writing, receiving national recognition for her essays and poetry. She was also crowned Homecoming Queen in 1953 before graduating from OHS in 1954. In her next chapter, she became a full-time wife and mother, raising her six children in Olean. While her children were growing up, she was very active in the St. John’s school and church community as well as Archbishop Walsh High School. In 1990 she went to work for Archbishop Walsh as a secretary and Alumni Coordinator. This role suited her very well, as she was known for her meticulous record keeping and attention to detail. She and her husband Paul were awarded the Walsh Persons of the Year for their dedication and service to the Walsh community.
After retiring, she stayed active gardening and loved taking care of her flowers. She was also very active with her 16 grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to Texas and Maryland for extended stays to spend time with them. She would follow each one of her 16 grandkids’ activities, from baseball to boy scouts to sports and dance. She also loved to cook and bake and could never say no to a request for her chocolate cake with white frosting.
