Kristin R. Bird “Loving Mother, Daughter, Sister & Friend” 

 Kristin R. Bird passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at her home. 

 Kristin was born on March 20, 1981 in Olean and was the daughter of Richard G. Bird and Michelle K. Peck Steinbroner. 

 Kristin graduated from Trocaire College with a degree in Massage Therapy. She loved to help people find peace, both physically and emotionally. 

 Kristin was a kind and free spirit, who unapologetically believed in being herself. She loved her family and friends, but more than anything in the world she loved her son, Aiden Jay Harrington. Kristin raised Aiden to be himself and proudly passed on her many gifts to him. Kristin had a very creative nature and loved to dance, sing, and draw. She had a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile that will be impossible to forget. 

Roberta Ann Myers, 70, of Bradford, PA passed away April 21, 2024, at the Bradford Manor, after a brief illness. 

Born on April 27,1953, in Bradford, the beloved first child of the late Robert Myers and Dolores (Rose) Myers.

Miss Myers, as she was known by her students at the St. Bernard School where she taught for over 40 years, and was a dedicated educator, committed to bringing out the best in each of her students. She felt blessed, in some cases, to have taught multiple generations of St. Bernard’s families.

Roberta was an avid reader, who loved watching movies, especially Science Fiction, and spending time with her devoted circle of friends and family. She will be missed by many.

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA—Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service for Roy D. Jackson, 82, of Shinglehouse, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 2PM at the Gospel Tabernacle Church, 420 US 6, Coudersport, PA, with the Rev. John Minor, pastor, officiating.

Roy went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2024.

Roy’s family entrusted his care and cremation arrangements to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.

Barbara Werner, 82, of E. Condot Road, St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Penn Highlands Elk.

She was born July 19, 1941 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Edwin and Ethel Woods Wittman.  She was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1959 and continued her education graduating from Lock Haven State Teachers College in 1963, where she earned her degree in Health and Physical Education.

Barbara enjoyed her years teaching in Johnsonburg, sports (especially golf), music, going to camp, and trips to the casino.  She would readily agree the two holes-in-one she made playing golf, one at the former St. Marys Country Club, the other at the Bavarian Hills, were just lucky shots.

On June 19, 1967, in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late Joseph F. Werner, who preceded her in death on March 16, 2009.

Elizabeth J. “Betty” Moyer, 95, of Kersey, PA went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

She was born on September 23, 1928, in Ridgway, the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Helen C. Verostek Izbinski.

On December 4, 1952, at St. Marys Presbyterian Church, she married the late Ralph L. Moyer, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2001.

Betty graduated from St. Leo’s School and spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was an active member of the Toby United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and was a member of the Toby United Methodist Women’s Society.  Betty was also very active in the Valley Grange and served in several positions over the year, this led to her years of volunteering at the Elk County Fair. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was willing to take care of not only her family but other children from the community.
