Bradford, Pennsylvania –United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. proudly announces the successful achievement of its annual campaign goals, marking another significant milestone in its commitment to serving the communities of Bradford, Port Allegany, and Smethport. With unwavering support from local donors and under the dynamic leadership of the Zonta Club Bradford as Campaign Chair, the organization has raised a remarkable $328,000, meeting its campaign targets and amplifying its capacity to effectively create positive change.

“The support and generosity shown by our community members, businesses, and partners are truly inspiring,” remarked Sarah Lonzi, Executive Director of United Way of the Bradford Area, Inc. “With the Zonta Club of Bradford leading the charge, we have not only met campaign goal but exceeded our fundraising targets for our fundraising events, indicating the community’s commitment to the betterment of life for individuals and families across our region.”

Sinnemahoning State Park is happy to announce this summer’s Women in the Wilds event will be held from Friday June 21^st to Sunday, June 23^rd with registration opening on April 1^st.

Women in the Wilds at Sinnemahoning State Park is a ladies-only weekend of outdoor recreation and environmental education. This summer’s WITW event offers women the opportunity to participate in a variety of outdoor activities as well as educational interpretive sessions on topics ranging from mushrooms to Dutch Oven cooking.

“Congratulations and Good Luck to Gavin Roessner as he competes in the Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Junior High State Tournament this weekend in Johnstown, PA.  Gavin placed second in the Area V tournament on February 18 to earn his place in the state tournament.  Gavin is an eighth grader at Coudersport Jr/Sr High School.  Good luck!” 

WARREN – Northern Pennsylvania Regional College President, Susie Snelick, was appointed to her position on the Board of Directors for the Rural Community College Alliance (RCCA) on Monday, February 19. Snelick is now one of just 13 higher education professionals from across the country who currently serve on RCCA’s board of directors.

Snelick’s involvement with the alliance began shortly after she became president at NPRC. Snelick attended their annual conference and immediately was welcomed as a part of the RCCA family.  This connection brought her back every year for the past three years, Snelick has attended regularly scheduled networking events, conferences, and meetings hosted by the RCCA to learn from a wide collection of industry experts who share a similar goal of providing quality education to those in small towns and communities. It helped her to learn many best practices, develop new ideas, and pivot to help better serve students from across NPRC’s territory.

We are excited to offer a new program for adults (18+ yrs). We
have officially established a pen pal program with Goose Creek
Library, a rural library in South Carolina. Participants can savor
the anticipation of sending and receiving physical letters with new
friends while learning about their communities. All letters will be
dropped off and delivered to the library for safety and simplicity.
The library will collect letters and will mail them to our partner
library in one package. All return letters will come in one package
to the library as well. We will cover the shipping costs.
