The Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library is delighted to invite the community to join in a celestial celebration at the Solar Eclipse Party on April 1, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The event promises an afternoon of fun and educational activities for people of ALL ages.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a special story hour and craft session, where they can unleash their creativity by constructing their own eclipse viewers from shoeboxes. This hands-on activity ensures a safe and engaging way to witness the solar eclipse scheduled for April 8, 2024.
In addition to the crafting experience, attendees will be treated to a light snack, fostering a friendly and communal atmosphere during the event. The Solar Eclipse Party is FREE and open to ALL ages, emphasizing the library’s commitment to providing enriching experiences for the entire community.
Due to limited supplies, registration is required for participation. Interested individuals can secure their spot by calling the library at 814-486-8011 and speaking with a helpful library staff member. Early registration is encouraged to ensure availability.
As an extra treat, special solar eclipse viewing glasses will be provided to attendees on a first-come, first-serve basis, allowing everyone to safely enjoy the celestial spectacle.
The library is also seeking support from the community in the form of empty shoeboxes for the craft activity. If you have old shoeboxes you’d like to donate, kindly drop them off at the circulation desk during regular business hours.
The Solar Eclipse Party at Barbara Moscato Brown Memorial Library promises to be an unforgettable experience, blending education with entertainment in a unique and celestial way. Join us for a day of wonder and exploration!
