Emporium Dispatched For Structure Fire on Rich Valley Road
At 7:05 PM on Thursday, Emporium Fire Dept. was dispatched to 1469 Rich Valley Road for a structure fire. Responder on scene reporting a chimney fire with extension into the roof of the house. Port Allegany Engine & Crew requested to respond to scene.
UPDATE: No extension into attic. Fire under control. Port Allegany mutual aid cancelled.

At 6:25 PM on Thursday, Bradford Firefighters have been dispatched to Bradford Regional Medical Center for a report of a fire alarm. Reported is smoke in a hallway at that facility.
Olean Police Take Down Link For Fentanyl
City of Olean, NY Police Department
The Street Crimes unit arrested 41 year old Arthur C. Link for selling Fentanyl in our city. Link was located yesterday at the Moonlight Hotel and brought back to the Olean Police Department for processing.
Olean City Court Judge Dicerbo arraigned Link on charges of Criminal sale of a controlled substance 3rd. degree and Criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd. degree ( B Felonies ) and he was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail with no bail.
Richburg, Bolivar & Allentown Respond to Early Thursday Morning Structure Fire

Allentown 7 was requested early this morning to respond to a structure fire in the village of Richburg.
Due to positive water in the hydrant district crews went to work with Bolivar and Richburg crews performing fire extinguishment and overhaul. Shinglehouse was dispatched for standby at Bolivar.
Units assisted on scene for approximately 1 hour before returning
3 Transported To Trauma Centers After Wednesday Morning Crash in Westfield, PA

Crary Hose, Knoxville-Deerfield Vol. Fire Company, Sabinsville Ambulance and UPMC Medics were dispatched to Route 49 & California Road for an MVC with injuries. Rescue Captain Andrew Adams arrived did a size-up and administered patient care,
Squad 5-18 responded and assisted with patient care, Engine 5-3 arrived along with Recue 6-8, all hands assisting patients. Chief 5-20 handled operations and Chief 5 established command. Chief 6-20 took over command as Chief 5 assisted with patient care.
Sabinsville Ambulance arrived with 2 ambulances, along with 2 Medic units, taking over patient care. Command set up a LZ at Knoxville air strip for a helicopter request but would not fly due to weather.
Sabinsville Ambulance along with Medics transported 3 patients to trauma hospitals. Crews from 5-3 and 6-8 controlled fluids and secured two vehicles. PEN-DOT and Whites towing along with PSP assisted at scene.

Last evening Station 44, Station 46 (Roulette Chemical Engine #1) & Station 48 (Coudersport Vol FireDept) were dispatched to Sylvania Township for a Structure Fire reported Camp, well involved.
Chief 44-10 (J.Burgett), Capt. 44 (A.Bothell), Engine 44-2 with Chief 44-30 (S.Hostetlar), Tanker 44-5, Ambulance 44-6 with Chief 44-70 (S.Orlowski) and Rescue 44-8 with Chief 44 (J.Rooney) and Chief 44-60 (T.Orlowski) responded.

Mary Ann Collins, 80, of 170 Irishtown Road, Kersey, PA passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Penn Highlands Clearfield, following a brief illness.
She was born July 18, 1943, in Joliet, IL, daughter of the late Camden J. and Mary E. (Vail) Kent, Sr. Mary Ann was a graduate of Edison High School in East Gary, IN, Class of 1961 and had been a resident of the area since 1964.
On June 27, 1964, in East Gary, IN, Mary Ann married Michael J. Collins, Sr., who preceded her in death on June 8, 2020. They were blessed to share 55 years of marriage.

Donald P. Smith, Sr., 90, known to most as “Don or Smitty”, of West Branch Township, Potter County, PA
Donald P. Smith, Sr., 90, known to most as “Don or Smitty”, of West Branch Township, Potter County, PA, “went to be with his beloved Ann to the happy hunting grounds” in heaven. He passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Monday, March 18, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport. Born February 1, 1934, in Williamsport, he was the son of the late Melvin and Amelia (Chrapek) Smith.
Don graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952. On October 28, 1956, he married the former Anna Platt, who preceded him in death in 2001. Don was a veteran having served as Sargent in the United States Army in Germany. He worked for the Pa Game Commission his entire life, beginning at the Loyalsock Game Farm, and all three turkey farms before moving to the Southwest Game Farm where he retired as Superintendent. He was a Deputy Game warden most of his life. He loved the outdoors, wildlife and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Don was a member of the Plunketts Creek Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he held several positions including chief. He was in the second EMT class in Pennsylvania and one of the first EMT’s in Lycoming County. He was the founder of the Plunketts Creek Township Fish Hatchery, that provided fish for local streams and kids fishing areas. He was a member of numerous clubs including Babylon Hunting Club, Upper Pine Creek Sportsmen Association, Highland Lake Manor 40-8, American Legion, and the V.F.W.
