At 5:40 PM on Friday, Lawrenceville, Nelson & Elkland Fire & EMS have been dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 49 & Thorn Bottom Road for a vehicle over the embankment with unknown details.

Brian D Stockman, 51, of Kersey, PA passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 following the lengthy illness.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Krise Funeral Home, 339 Main St., Kersey, PA 15846.
Eric W. Tampuu, 47, of Main Street, Roulette, PA passed away unexpectedly Sunday (Jan. 14, 2024) as a result of injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.
Eric was found deceased in the morning after his snowmobile struck a pole in the Roulette Little League Baseball field overnight.
Arrangements are under the direction of Switzer Funeral Home.
Paul L. Johnson, 91, of Route 155 N, Turtlepoint, PA went to be with his Lord, Tuesday (Jan. 16, 2024) in the Olean General Hospital.
Born February 26, 1932, in Duke Center, he was a son of Oscar F. and Cora Lathrop Johnson. On Nov. 5, 1955, in Portville, NY, he married Wilda V. Spears, who survives. They were married 68 years.
Paul was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1951.
He was a small engine mechanic who worked several years with Pierce Glass Co., Port Allegany, and later owned & operated the Paul Johnson Service, where he sold outdoor maintenance equipment, before his retirement.
Paul was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the US Navy. In 2009, he visited San Diego, CA, where he saw and boarded the USS Midway, where he had been assigned.

Judith L “Judy” Pearman, 66, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, of 838 South Avenue, Bradford, PA passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born January 15, 1958, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Doris M. (Courteau) Campbell.
On January 26, 1974, in Bradford, she married Edward J. Pearman, who preceded her in death on August 22, 2006.
Judy was the cook for 40 years, at Bradford Manor, where she retired in September 2020, and later worked part-time as the cook at JJ’s Saloon.
Harold G. “Stub” McCUTCHEON, 82, of Westfield, PA, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024 in his home.
Born June 14, 1941, at home on the family farm in Harrison Valley, he was the son of Clifton Hiram and Gladys L. Woodard McCutcheon. On August 29, 1959, in Harrison Valley, he married the former Delia M. Hill, who predeceased him on July 24, 2022.
Stub and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm in Harrison Valley for many years. He was a member of the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Company and served on the board of Knoxville Agway.
Ginger Yasurek, 68, of Russell City, PA passed away Thursday morning (Jan. 18) at her residence. Born May 6, 1955 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late Leland “Bud” and Margaret (Nearing) Wilson. On Sept. 16, 1972 in Highland, she married Steve Yasurek, who survives.
Ginger, along with her husband owned and operated Gingers Wagon Wheel in Russell, where they sold ice cream, pizza and other grilled items.

LOWVILLE, New York (WWNY) – A Pennsylvania man will face a 2nd degree murder charge, as the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office investigates a death at River View Lodge in Lowville.
In a press release Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Ridge View Lodge late on the night of January 6, where they found Brandon J. Shepker, 39, of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, dead.
Shepker was found in the room he shared with Jacob M. Vanbergen, 24, also of Coudersport. The men were said to be friends. Vanbergen worked for Shepker, who owned a business in Pennsylvania, police said.
Deputies say Shepker’s injuries were “consistent with a physical altercation and strangulation.” Read more with video report…..
Robert R. “Bob” McDermott, 71, of Kersey, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Synder Memorial Health Care.
He was born on September 17, 1952, in Smethport, a son of the late James and Virginia Stickles McDermott.
On August 5, 1978, at St. Boniface Church, he married Margie Kastner, who survives.
Bob was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1971 and was a member of St. Boniface Church. He was a lifelong volunteer for the Fox Twp. Fire Police, and retired from Metaldyne after several years of service. Bob enjoyed mowing his grass and watching the races.
