After 18 years of serving our communities, I am retiring. Janet, Wendy and I have tried to fill all your floral needs with love over the years.
The many miles we have travelled and the important times in your lives that we have been a part of have made this a very hard decision. We have all loved being your florists!

South Kendall Avenue Crash
The Rew Volunteer Fire Department
At 0910 hours Rew fire department was dispatched to a one car motor vehicle accident in the area of 809 South Kendall Avenue. Station 8 members provided traffic control and assistance to Bradford city ambulance. Donovans towing cleared the vehicle from the scene.

He must be taking a break from his sleigh, because Santa is going to be in the Shay locomotive at the Pennsylvania Lumber Museum on December 9, 2023, from 12 to 3 PM, to hear your holiday wish list.
Take an instant photo with St. Nick and make a super simple family-crafted ornament. Enjoy cookies and hot cocoa. Browse a holiday bazaar of local artisans. Admission to the Santa in the Shay event also includes admission to the Lumber Museum’s exhibit galleries, so take the opportunity to learn some lumber and forest history with your family!
Be sure to dress warmly and wear boots because Santa and the Shay locomotive are outside in an un-heated building. There could be snow on the ground too, so be prepared. Guest will also have to climb a short flight of stairs to make their way into the cab of the locomotive, but Santa can come out to meet you as needed.

Albert O. Rhodes, 35, of 8566 County Rd., Clarksville, NY passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at home.
Born on May 4, 1988, in Belfast, he was a son of Robert L. Rhodes and Theresa J. Dutton Rhodes.
Albert loved racing, hunting, animals, spending time with family and hanging out in the garage with family and friends.

SHOE US THE LOVE!
The Port Allegany United Methodist Church is conducting a shoe drive fundraiser now through February 2, 2024, to raise funds for the church. Port Allegany UMC will earn funds based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and new shoes collected, as Funds2Orgs will issue a check for the collected shoes. Those dollars will benefit the church.
Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and new shoes in the bins in the back parking lot of the church located at 307 North Main Street. All donated shoes will then be redistributed throughout the Funds2Orgs network of micro-enterprise (small business) partners.
Shaffer named Pavilion administrator
BRADFORD, PA – Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), a member campus of Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS), announced the appointment of Jason Shaffer, NHA, as administrator of The Pavilion. Shaffer will be taking the leadership position and overseeing the 95-bed skilled nursing facility.
“We are pleased to welcome Jason to the Pavilion. His experience, skillset, and leadership will be a valuable asset to the Pavilion,” said David Monroe, MBA, BSN, RN, chief administrative officer, BRMC. “The Pavilion has tackled so many obstacles this year and now we want to continue growing and exploring opportunities to make improvements to become the skilled nursing facility of choice.”

Rev. Robert Edward ANDERSON, Jr., 63, of Ulysses, PA
Rev. Robert Edward ANDERSON, Jr., 63, of Ulysses, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
Born December 24, 1959, in Adrian Hospital, Punxsutawney, he was the son of Robert and Rose Mary Johnston Anderson.
A 1977 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, a Master of Science in Chemistry from Penn State University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY, and his teaching certificate from Clarion University.
On August 18, 1979, in Punxsutawney, he married his high school sweetheart, Melanie Copenhaver, who survives. They celebrated 44 years of marriage this past August.
Rob was a beloved pastor of multiple churches during his lifetime in Franklin, Galeton, Ulysses, and Genesee. He was currently serving as pastor of the Ulysses Methodist Church and Genesee Community Church. Rob would often say that his teaching career supported his preaching habit as he was an adored chemistry teacher for Coudersport High School in Coudersport. He loved to read, learn, teach, and mentor.
$4,000 EITC donation from Farmers National Bank
The Elk County Community Foundation was the grateful recipient of a $4,000 EITC donation from Farmers National Bank in support of grants that will be distributed to the Johnsonburg and Ridgway School districts.
Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program is a way for businesses to enrich educational opportunities for students and earn tax credits by donating to an Educational Improvement Organization.
The Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF) is designated as an Educational Improvement Organization under the EITC program. The EITC program makes grants available to public schools to support innovative educational programs that do not fall within the typical academic program. ECCF is an approved administrator of these grants.

Michael Eric Barber, 60, of Buffalo, NY
Michael Eric Barber, of Buffalo, NY passed in his sleep Thursday (Nov. 28, 2023), one day shy of his 61st birthday.
Michael was born in Cuba on Nov. 29, 1962, and spent most of his life in the Allegany County area of Western New York. The son of Odis Lee Barber Sr. and Eunice Julia Barber, he was raised in Friendship.
As a youth, he was a star athlete in baseball, soccer and basketball, winning multiple awards.
After graduating Friendship Central High School in 1981, he pursued a career in the armed forces, serving in the Special Forces Division of the U.S. Army. Private First Class (PFC) Barber will have a full military salute as a part of his homegoing services.
He was a lifelong member of the Friendship Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Friendship.
