Judith Y. Summerson, 81, of Emporium, PA passed away at UPMC Cole, Coudersport, PA on Saturday morning (September 30, 2023).
She was born July 11, 1942 in Ridgway, PA a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Jolloff Harpster.
Judy graduated from Cameron County High School in the class of 1960. She retired from Sylvania where she worked for many years. She had been a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything. She enjoyed elk viewing with her friends.

Harrijane B. Hannon-Moore, 84, of 33 Sanford Street, Bradford, PA passed away Friday, September 29, 2023.
Born December 5, 1938, in Kane, she was the only daughter of the late Harry Frederick and Lucille (Scott) Boylan. She was raised in Cyclone and attended local schools and was a college graduate.
Harrijane wore many hats during her lifetime. She always prided herself on the fact she always worked and wanted to work.
She was married to James R. Hannon who died in 2007. Later she married Jerry B. Moore who survives her.
Prior to entering the political arena, she was employed by the Bradford Area School District. She was an elected official for 30 years, starting with Bradford City Council person, McKean County Commissioner, and finally was elected to the McKean County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans Court. She was very active in the Republican Party.

Kimberly Ann Kohler, 59, Bradford, PA passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Olean General Hospital.
Born November 6, 1963, in Olean, NY, she was the youngest daughter of Gloria J. (Sokoly) Saar, who survives.
Kim was a 1982 graduate of Bradford Central Christian High School.
After graduating from BRCS, Kim relocated to Texas, and moved from ranch to ranch training race horses. She brought her passion for Equestrianism back home to Bradford, and opened 88 Acres in 1993. Kim, and later with her daughter Britney, would compete in barrel races and various competitions. Kim competed all over NY, PA, IN, and OH, with her prized championship being at Turn-N-Burn in Wilmington, OH. Retiring from competitive racing in 2008 Kim continued boarding horses for locals at 88 Acres.

Zachary Christopher Gausman, 23, of 141 Poplar Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, September 28, 2023.
He was born October 22, 1999, in St. Marys, son of Christopher and Michele Buck Gausman. He was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2018.
Along with his loving parents, he is survived by two brothers, Connor and Bryce Gausman; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruth Buck of Emporium; his paternal grandfather, Joe Gausman of St. Marys; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

John R. Wood, age 95, of Knoxville, PA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
Born January 14, 1928 in Deerfield Twp., he was the son of the late Russell C. and Ruth (Edgcomb) Wood.
John graduated from Knoxville High School as the valedictorian of his class. He married Phebe Berdanier in 1953 and together they have shared 69 loving years and raised five wonderful children.

Robert A. Dougherty, Jr., age 60, of Knoxville, PA, passed away at UPMC Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro on Thursday, October 6th 2022.
Born April 17th, 1962 in Niagara Falls NY, he was the son of Robert “Bob” and Mary (Bacon) Dougherty.
Robert was only five years old when diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus – an autoimmune disease that significantly impacted his health and caused struggles throughout his life. Despite this, Robert was known for his resiliency, creativity, mischievous sense of humor, and kind nature.
Galeton Fall Fest – Great Success –
The Galeton Chamber of Commerce held its 18th Annual Fall Fest on Sat., Sept. 30 in John J. Collins Park in Centertown. The weather and temperature were perfect as hundreds of attendees walked through the park to view the 65 vendors’ items. From doughnuts to BBQ, to crafts, candles, and clothing were available to purchase.
Michele Petito – Chairperson of the event was very pleased and excited to have vendors from as far as New Philadelphia, Ohio and Watkins Glen, NY participate. The Chamber is looking forward to next year’s event.

Phyllis M. Sullivan, 93, of Emporium, PA formerly of 226 East Third Street
Phyllis M. Sullivan, 93, of Emporium, PA formerly of 226 East Third Street passed away at Guy & Mary Felt Manor, Emporium, PA on Saturday, September 30, 2023 following a lengthy illness.
She was born September 5, 1930 in Emporium, PA, a daughter of the late John F. and Miriam Cooper McManigle.
Phyllis graduated from Emporium High School in the Class of 1948 where she was a proud member of the Red Raider cheerleading squad. Phyllis, along with three of her sisters, all cheered on the same squad, a record that stands to this day.
She was a lifelong resident of Emporium and started her working career at Sylvania in the Engineering department. She held numerous other positions throughout her lifetime before finding her calling as the Office Manager at St. Mark Parish. She retired in 2005 and remained a member and volunteer of St. Mark church.

Herbert David Barnickel, 73, of Tidioute, PA, passed on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, in St. Vincent Hospital, Erie, PA.
He was born in Washington, PA on February 13, 1950, the son of the late Herbert Jacob and Genevive Sprowls Barnickel Zulick. Herb was graduated from Trinity High School and Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, PA.
He worked in psychological services and corrections as an addiction counselor, retiring from the State of PA. He was a member of Tidioute Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. Together with Carol, they fulfilled his dream of living in Tidioute, a dream that started with Herb’s father and will continue with his granddaughter Genevieve (Ginny). He was a member of Coal Miners for Console, making Shannon a proud coal miner’s daughter.

This year’s Fall Antique Show & Sawmill Run will be held on Saturday, October 7th and Sunday, October 8th. Northern Pennsylvania typically reaches peak fall foliage conditions around this time so the forests surrounding the museum will (hopefully) be decked in rich and beautiful colors.
The Antique Show features multiple antique vendors who will be selling their wares in the museum program room. Our vendors have a little bit of everything, including antique tools, vintage clothing, collectible coins, glassware, books, and furniture. Vendors open 9am-5pm Saturday and 9am-3pm Sunday.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase. No ATM is available on site so plan your visit accordingly.
Outside, the museum grounds will come alive with historic trade demonstrations. On Saturday 10/7 (ONLY) the engines of our steam-powered circular sawmill will be running from 10 AM to 3 PM. Other demonstrations will be happening over both days of the event at the birch still, lumber camp kitchen, blacksmith shop, and the Eastern Loggers model railroad display.
