Wayne F. MacKENZIE, 72, of Coudersport, PA, died Saturday, October 7, 2023 in UPMC Williamsport following a brief illness.
Born July 27, 1951, in Port Allegany, he was the son of Daniel N. MacKenzie and Patricia Kaziska MacKenzie O’Toole. A 1970 graduate of Port Allegany High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Navy in the Vietnam War.

Mary Jane Ayers, 93, of Warren, Pa., died Monday evening, October 9, 2023, at Kinzua Valley Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Warren, PA. She was born May 24, 1930 in Warren, PA., and was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Antoinette Gigliotti Salerno. She was a lifelong Warren area resident and a 1948 graduate of Warren High School. Mary Jane was employed with the former Central Nursing Home as the office manager and with the Area Agency on Aging as office receptionist. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church and Sweet Adeline’s.
Mary Jane is survived by her 5 Children – David F. Ayers and wife, Deborah of Bloomfield, CO., Rebecca A. Culbertson and husband, Gary of Warren, PA., Linda M. Eng and husband, Nelson of Alvin, TX., Pamela E. Hartman and husband, Earl, Lucinda A. Nuhfer and husband, Phillip all of Warren, PA., 1 Brother–Leroy Salerno and wife, Mary Anne of Sunnyvale, CA., 8 Grandchildren – Tron Valentine (Caitlin), Melissa Culbertson, Lindsey Abplanalp (Matt), Diane Mayhew (Cody), Kevin Ayers (Haley), Timothy Ayers (Erin), Vanessa Eng (T.J.), Nathan Eng, 4 Great Grandchildren – Chanel, Dominick, Cason, Jayden, Josie and baby girl due in November, several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Dr. Charles Salerno and Joseph Salerno.
Tamara Kathleen Meyer, 43, of 420 Rightmeyer Street, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 7, 2023 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.
Charles M. Ditz, 88, of Warren, PA., died Tuesday morning, October 10, 2023, at Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA. A complete obituary will be announced when available through the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., Warren, PA.
The student of the week will be Jaiden Thomas. He is a sophomore at Smethport High School and a first-year health assistant student at Seneca Highlands IU9 CTC. Jaiden is an exemplary student who is attentive to detail, compassionate, and helpful. His courage to try new things in class has inspired others to do the same. In his spare time, Jaiden enjoys playing guitar.

Johnsonburg dispatched mutual aid. St. Marys engine requested to scene. Wilcox dispatched to the Brickyard in Johnsonburg to fill tankers.

Marilyn I. Veit, 84, of Port Allegany, PA passed away Monday (October 9, 2023) at UPMC-Cole, Coudersport.

At 0842 Hours, dispatched for a Vehicle Accident Involving 2 Tractor-Trailers with injuries at the above location. Chief 48(Phelps) and Rescue 48-8(w/3) responded at dispatch along with Engine 48-3(w/3) thereafter. Chief 48 was advised by TC911 that there were 2 Tractor-Trailers involved, with possibly Smoke and Fire from one of the units. Upon his arrival, it was deemed that there was only 1 unit involved, with no smoke, fire, or injuries and that the Trailer had become disconnected from the Tractor and disabled the vehicle. Rescue 48-8 and Engine 48-3 arrived, checked for hazards and controlled traffic until taken over by Fire Police. Chief 48, Rescue 48-8 and Engine 48-3 returned once the scene was turned over to Fire Police to control traffic until the vehicle could be removed from the roadway.

AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM
At 0955 Hours, dispatched for an Automatic Alarm sounding at the above address(UPMC Coudersport). Chief 48-20(Cowburn) was in the area at the time of dispatch and arrived immediately after, reporting nothing showing from the exterior and started his investigation with Hospital Maintenance. Chief 48(Phelps) along with Engine 48-1(w/5) also responded, and upon investigation, it was deemed the trip was accidental, and units returned to service.
All Republican Candidates-both primary winners and write in candidates are invited to speak at this event which is being sponsored with FREE Admission to all by Potter county FREE PA Chapter. We invite all candidates-including incumbents and those running un-opposed to come out for the event for a chance to get to know the area voters and hear their concerns before the November 7th election.
This meeting is directed towards the candidates representing Potter County Magisterial District 55-4-03. Candidates for these Townships and Boros will be featured; Pike, West Branch, Abbott, Ulysses, Ulysses Boro, Bingham, Harrison, Stewardson and both Galeton wards. Don Kudrick, Potter county’s Republican Party Chairman will be on hand to speak and to introduce countywide candidates who are in attendance.
On-site Voter Registration assistance will also available- so if you have been considering registering (deadline to register is October 23’rd) to vote-please show up and be ready to vote this November! Each voter present will be permitted one question per candidate and will be able to follow up pertaining to the response from the candidate.
We would like to extend an invitation for all school board candidates to attend-as parents have valid concerns and would like to know where the candidates stand on important issues such as forced masking, potential forced vaccinations for their children and their stance on male trans-genders using the girls restrooms or locker rooms.

Christopher Bice, age 34, of Blossburg, PA, passed away due to a brief illness, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at UPMC Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
He was born on August 12, 1989, in Norfolk, VA, a son of James and Tammy (Schoonover) Bice. Chris was the husband of Trisha Brimmer. He worked as a laborer at Ward Manufacturing in Blossburg, PA.
Chris was the most amazing, smart, outgoing, funny, crazy, loving person anyone was fortunate enough to know. He lived his life to the absolute fullest. He was daring, caring and charming. He took pride in making others have a good day even if it was his bad day. He loved his family and was always the one to be there when you needed someone to understand or listen.
Chris lived his life as the adventure it was meant to be, telling many crazy stories about it and leaving many people with stories to tell.
