Patricia “Jean” Mann, 90, of 109 Cushing Avenue, Johnsonburg, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep with family by her side, early Saturday morning, June 24, 2023 at her residence.
She was born on June 21, 1933 in Ridgway, a daughter to the late Frederick and Elizabeth Hennessy Eggler. On September 13, 1975 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married Ermil B. Mann. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1992.
A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Jean was a 1947 graduate of Holy Rosary School and a 1951 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and the Johnsonburg and Wilcox Senior Centers. Jean enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and doing volunteer work. She loved bingo and recently doing Wordle on her Ipad.
Jean had retired in 1993 as a Senior Secretary in the Traffic Department of Willamette Industries, Johnsonburg Mill after 42 years of working for the New York and Pennsylvania Co., Penntech Papers and Weyerhauser before Willamette, now Domtar.
Jean is survived by one step-daughter, Jennifer, Mrs. Fred Frank of Johnsonburg and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a brother James Eggler and 2 sisters Mary Swanson and Margaret Eggler.
A Mass of Christian Burial for P. Jean Mann will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Fr. David Wilson, Pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.

Dolores A. “Dode” Dworsky, 93, of Silver Creek Terrace, St. Marys and formerly of 522 Penn Street, Johnsonburg, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Friday morning at Silver Creek Terrace.
She was born in Erie, PA a daughter to Sarah Redmond Popielski. On May 5, 1962 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married James “Jim” Dworsky. He preceded her in death on October 13, 2014.
A lifelong resident of Johnsonburg, Dode was a 1948 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of Holy Rosary Church where she had been a member of the Funeral Dinner Committee and the Festival Committee. She was also a member of the St. Joe’s Women’s Aux. and was an active member of the ECCHS PTO. Dode loved her family, her church and her front porch. She enjoyed playing cards, particularly cinch and 500. She also loved to Polka and read books.
Dode had retired from Nelson’s Grocery Store in 1997 after 20 years. She had also catered for 10 years and had worked at Pelp’s Restaurant for 10 years.
She is survived by her children Christine Marie Geer of Johnsonburg and Daniel James Dworsky and his wife Shawn of Ridgway and her grandchildren Sydney and Samantha Kovalyak and Dakota Dworsky. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Lorraine Dworsky of St. Marys and Lois, Mrs. Robert Czekai of Rush, NY and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother and husband, Dode is predeceased by her mother’s husband Walter Popielski, who passed away before she was born, and brothers Raymond, Louis, Stanley, Chester and Thomas Popielski.

Richard C. “Dick” VanDuyne, age 93, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
He was born on August 1, 1929 in Towaco, NJ, a son of the late Elbert F. and Marie F. (Lockhoff) VauDuyne and was the owner of VanDuyne Dairy Equipment for many years. He was married to Janice L. (Ingerick) VanDuyne, and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Tioga, PA.
He spent several years as a volunteer in RVICS (Roving Volunteers in Christ’s Service) and spent that time traveling to several states doing construction projects in various Christian ministries. He enjoyed woodworking, logging, construction, and traveling. He was a Jack-Of-All-Trades and a master of many.
Dick is survived by his wife: Janice VanDuyne of Wellsboro, PA, two sons: Mark (Ruth) VanDuyne of Mexico, MO, Timothy (Wendy) VanDuyne of Lawrenceville, PA, three daughters: Becky (Brad) Sharp of Middlebury Center, PA, Debbie (Phil) Gastrock of Wellsboro, PA, Sharon (Ben) Dewalt of Allenwood, PA, two brothers: Tom VanDuyne of CO, David (Betty Brooks) VanDuyne of NJ, brother-in-law: Bud Kurvink of FL, three step-sons: Greg Mattison of Wellsboro, PA, Tim Mattison of CO, Mark Mattison of CA, 16 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two daughters: Linda VanDuyne and Ruth Migliore, two grandsons: Daniel Sharp and Brad Sharp, Jr. and a granddaughter Shoshanna Stratton.

Marjorie Butler Rawson, 84, of Galeton, PA died on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.
Born April 1, 1939 in Blossburg, PA, she was the daughter of Clara N. (Hurlburt) Butler and William Butler. On August 8, 1959 she married Charles “Ed” Rawson who predeceased her on March 27, 2008. She was a graduate of Galeton High School.
Marge was a member and deacon of The First Presbyterian Church in Galeton and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was President of the Goodyear Hose Company Auxiliary for many years, past member of Galeton BPW and was also a member of the Wellsboro Doll Club.
She enjoyed her family, friends, baking cakes, collecting dolls and going to lunch with her best friends.
Surviving are: her children, Scott Edward (Bobbi) Rawson of Port Matilda, PA, Lorie Lynne Hillyard (Dave House) of Troupsburg, NY, and Julie Lee (Bill) Jeffries of Galeton; grandchildren, Elaina (Greg) Payne of Scio, NY, Janelle (Todd Wilson) Rawson of Philipsburg, PA, Jaime (Jake) Bahr of State College, PA, Jeffrey Rawson of Port Matilda, PA, Brett (Danielle Rogers) Jeffries of Galeton, PA, and Nathan (Alyssa) Jeffries of Port Matilda, PA; great grandchildren, Thomas Surdam of Scio, NY and Jackson Wilson of Philipsburg, PA.
Also predeceasing her were her parents, a brother LeRoy Butler and a sister Joanne Chalmers.
Friends may call on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 9:30-11:30am at the First Presbyterian Church of Galeton. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:30am with the Rev. Sherry Elliott officiating.

At 0252 this morning City Fire was dispatched to 27 Walker Ave. for a structure fire.
City police arrived on scene first and reported a working fire with flames showing at the rear of the 1 story vacant structure. Captain 1-31 arrived on scene at 0256 and requested a second alarm bringing in off duty firefighters and BTVFD.
City firefighters made a quick hit on the fire as it began to spread to the rear of an occupied house on Jackson Avenue, saving that home.
Fire damage to the main fire building was limited to the rear at the area of origin. Captain 1-31(Tehle) had Walker Ave. command. City of Bradford Police and Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Department assisted on scene. City fire returned at 0420.

Edith V. Anderson Todd, 101, of Port Allegany, PA passed away in Monroe, CT on June 21, 2023.
She was born on February 6, 1922, to John Aaron and Amanda Charlotte (Gustafson) Anderson in Port Allegany. On June 22, 1947, she married George R. Todd and enjoyed 68 years together before his death in 2015. She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School, class of 1940.
During WWII she worked as a secretary for the National Munitions Company, and later held that position for Pittsburgh Corning, and then in the legal offices of attorneys Elton Carlson and Merle Johnson.
She enjoyed her family, entertaining friends, traveling experiences with her husband and spending several winters together in Dunedin, Florida.
Edith was a member of the Gethsemane Lutheran Church, belonged to Eastern Star and supported other community organizations over the years.
She was the youngest of ten children who preceded her in death. Surviving her are a daughter, Catherine A. Radlinski of Monroe, CT; two sons, C. Dana (Suzan) Todd of Houston, TX and Russell C. (Mary) Todd of Erie, PA; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Willma Todd of Bristol, VA, Loraine Todd of Tonawanda, NY and Ella M. Rosko of Smethport, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Port Allegany on July 2, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Port Allegany.
Memorials may be made to the S.W. Smith Library or a worthy organization of your choice.

Ruth H. Kish, age 91, formerly of 110 East 9th Street, Oil City, PA passed away on Thursday June 22, 2023 at West Lakes Woods assisted living.
She was born in Bradford, PA, July 14, 1931, the daughter of Ralph G and Signe A. Watson, residing in Rixford, PA and graduating from Otto-Eldred Jr.-Sr. High School, Duke Center, PA in 1949.
After graduation she was employed by a local insurance agency in Bradford for five years and then employed by South Penn Oil Company-Pennzoil Company in Oil City until 1962.
She married Eugene F. Kish on November 12, 1960 in Good Hope Lutheran Church, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Kish is survived by two children, Jeffrey Kish and his wife Kimberly, of Massillon, Ohio and their children Kyle and Amy Houston Kish, and Halle Kiehl (Bill), of Erie, PA and three nephews, Todd Clark, of Plattsmouth, NE., Shawn Clark, of Grants Pass, Oregon and Timothy Clark, of Chantilly, Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Fay Uffalussy, October 2012, of Reading, PA.
Ruth enjoyed the piano, bowling, golf, wreath making and latch hook rugs in her earlier years. She was a long time member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and was involved in different capacities through the years.
The family would like to thank UPMC Family Hospice, especially Katie who gave special attention to mom over her final days.
As per Ruth’s request there will be no visitation.
Interment will be in Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens.
