The Education Council has scheduled an Excel I (Basic) class and an Excel II (Intermediate) class for Thursdays, August 3 and August 10, respectively, from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Classes will be taught by Ron Keeney, Professor in the Computer Science Department at Alfred State College of Technology and will be held at the Education Council’s Coudersport office at 5 Water Street. Christian Michael Parrish, 48, of Summerville, South Carolina, as of April 30th, 2023, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a very long, and so painful, but an exceptional brave and courageous battle with diabetes.
Born October 11,1974, in Coudersport, PA, the son of Cheryl (Ayers) Furman, Austin, Pa and James Parrish, Florida, Christian graduated in 1992, from Coudersport Jr. and Sr. High School. Christian went on to attend college at Lock Haven University where he studied Secondary Education. He then went to Hamilton University receiving Bachelor’s of Science – Adult Education and his Master’s degree – Adult Education.
Christian worked in the medical field for many years until he was no longer able. He was so smart. I never met anyone that was as bright as he was.
Christian loved life. He had such a beautiful smile that would light up a whole room. He could go any place and not know a person there and leave having so many new friends. (not just acquaintances, but friends).
His most loved treasures where his four precious children. He loved being with his children every chance he got. Christian was the greatest Dad ever. He also loved his faithful companions, Bella, Buddy, and Blue who were by his side day and night. Surviving besides his Mother and Step-father Dennis Furman, are his four children; Sons Tyler and Cayden Parrish of Summerville, SC. whom stayed with their Dad caring for him when Christian’s mother wasn’t by her son’s side. Two daughters, Morgan and Loren Parrish, Ashville, NC, Brothers Cody Parrish of Howe, Indiana and Joshua (Michelle) Parrish, Shinglehouse, Pa. A special nephew, Xavier (Kathryn) Furman, Sturgis, Michigan. Maternal Grandmother, Arlene Ayers and Paternal Step-grandmother, Doris Robison, both of Coudersport, Pa. Two special aunts; Gloria (Gregory) Frable, Newmanstown, Pa and Susan (Terry) Plumstead, Westfield, Pa, and a special cousin Jason Ayers, Coudersport, Pa. and his 3 Compadres, Bella, now living in Ashville, NC, Buddy, and Blue, now living in Austin, PA. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by Maternal grandfather, Francis T. Ayers and a Grandson, Carver Parrish. Paternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Parrish and Paternal Step-grandfather, Edwin (Chick) Furman.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at The Gospel Tabernacle in Coudersport, PA. on Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. John Minor officiating.
Wellsville Police arrested Victoria L. Stormer, age 52, of Wellsville, charging her with Petit Larceny. The charge stems from an incident that took place at Dollar General on West Dyke Street. Stormer was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. Stormer is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on July 18th at 4:30 pm.

Wellsville Police arrested Patrick W. Gallagher Jr, age 31 of Wellsville, charging him with Harassment 2nd and Disorderly conduct. The charges stem from an incident that took place on Scott Avenue on June 9th. Gallagher was additionally charged with a second count of Harassment 2nd for another incident that took place on Scott Avenue on June 11th. Gallagher was processed, issued an appearance ticket and released. Gallagher is due to appear in Wellsville Village Court on August 15th at 4:30 pm.
The last full day that the office will be open is Tuesday, June 27, 2023. The office will be closed from Wednesday, June 28, 2023 until July 6. The reason for the closure is I am going on a vacation/staycation. The drop box and the mail will be checked on a daily basis. Forrest L. Seeley, Jr., 67, of 582 Parkside Drive, Limestone, NY, passed away, Monday, June 19, 2023, at Olean General Hospital.
Born on July 24, 1955, in Olean NY, a son of the late Forrest L. Seeley, Sr and Emogene (Johnson) Seeley-Wesmiller.
He attended Limestone Free Union and graduated in 1974.
On March 8, 1974, he enlisted in the United States Marines Corp. He served until March 11, 1976, when he was honorably discharged.
After the service he worked at Haliburton, Dresser Rand and for many years as an Installer for Direct TV.
On June 18, 2005, in his Parkside Drive home, he married Linda (Miller) Seeley.
Forrest was a member of the American Legion Post 1560 in Limestone and the Limestone Sportsman’s Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and drinking Bud Light. His greatest joy came from being with his daughters and family.
Surviving is his wife Linda of 18 years, two daughters, Tracy Seeley and Stephanie (Chris) Barrile, all of Bradford, four stepdaughters, Bridget Ehman, Mellissa Autieri, Laurie Trojan, and Kristen Roberts, one stepson, Richard S Trojan and Steven Trojan, two sisters Jacqui Pritchard, and Marge Feely, one brother, David Seeley, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one stepson, Steven Trojan.
Family will receive friends on Saturday July 1, 2023, at 10:00 am at the American Legion Post 1560 in Limestone. At 10:30 am Full Military Honors will be accorded by members of the United States Marine Corp, and the Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 1560.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Joann L. Fronapel, 93, formerly of 9 Cross Dr., Bradford, PA and a former winter resident of Zepher Hills, FL, for many years, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Bradford Ecumenical Home.
Born on February 20, 1930, in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Irene (Johnson) Record.
Joann graduated from Bradford Area High School in 1949.
On June 24, 1949, she married Robert Adams, who preceded her in death on September 15, 1962. On August 27, 1978, she married Eugene “Piney” Fronapel who preceded her in death on January 28, 2006.
Joann worked as a waitress at the Desoto Motel Restaurant.
Surviving is one son, Ronald (Millie) Adams, of, Tonawanda, NY, three stepdaughters, Carolyn Fronapel, of Pittsburgh, Mary (Mike) Mackey, of Russell, and Barbara (Chip) Bloomgren, of ME, one granddaughter Erika Adams, seven step grandchildren, and 11 step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and two sisters, Phyllis Holzworth and Marge Reed.
Services are private and at the convenience of family. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.

At 1:35 PM on Sunday, Wellsboro & Middlebury have been dispatched to the intersection of Rt. 287 & Route 249 to meet a Teal Subaru Outback for a male victim of an accidental gunshot wound to the leg. Air Medical has been requested.
At 1:24 PM on Sunday, Highland Township Fire Dept. & Kane Ambulance have been dispatched to a trail near Owl’s Nest & Forest Road 339 for an ATV rollover accident. Male victim of rollover was then struck by a second ATV. He reportedly has head injuries.
In-person programs are being held this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, June 30, July 1, 2 and 3 at Cherry Springs State Park at 4639 Cherry Springs Road, Coudersport, Pa. 16915. The park is 12 miles from Route 6 in Galeton via West Branch Road and 15 miles from Coudersport via Route 44.
Star gazing programs are all held in the Night Sky Public Viewing Area. Park in the gravel lot and follow the walkway next to the restrooms to the seating area. Since seating is limited and spring nights are chilly, those attending may want to bring a chair and/or blanket.

It’s that time of year again. Many people are flocking towards stores and roadside stands to get the biggest, brightest, and loudest fireworks in anticipation of the 4th of July. We like to impress our neighbors, family and friends and show our red, white, and blue pride with the best fireworks. But sometimes these fun and joyous celebrations can take a turn for the worse, quickly. Here’s some advice to help you stay safe and injury-free this Independence Day.
Firework Facts
As impressive and fun as fireworks can be, one thing is clear: They also come with potential dangers, particularly in the hands of the untrained. In some states, they’re illegal for consumers to use. Know the facts before spending hundreds or even thousands of dollars that will just go up in smoke.
Fireworks can cause permanent injury and disfigurement to your eyes, hands, and face.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that emergency departments saw about 10,000 fireworks injuries in 2019.
Sparklers can reach 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the American Burn Association.
More than half of fireworks injuries in the U.S. happen to people under age 20.
People who’ve suffered burns may need months or years to heal physically and emotionally.
